At the heart of what we do is our
custom mold design for plastic bottles
—and lipstick tubes are no exception. Unlike manufacturers that force you to choose from a catalog of pre-existing molds, we start from scratch, using 3D design technology to create a lipstick tube that's tailored to your exact specifications. Whether you've got a detailed sketch, a mood board, or just a vague idea ("I want something sleek and minimalist with a rose gold finish"), our design team turns that vision into a 3D model you can see, touch, and approve before we even start production.
Step 1: Share Your Vision (No Idea is Too "Out There")
We start with a conversation. Tell us about your brand: Who's your target customer? What's the vibe—luxury, eco-friendly, retro, modern? Do you have specific colors, textures, or features in mind? Maybe you want a tube that's extra lightweight for travel, or one with a magnetic closure that makes a satisfying "click" when opened. Even if you're not sure about the details, our team can share examples and brainstorm ideas. We've designed tubes with soft-touch rubber exteriors for a premium feel, matte finishes that resist fingerprints, and even custom shapes (think hexagonal bases or curved edges) that stand out in a drawer full of round tubes.
Step 2: 3D Modeling & Prototyping (See It Before You Commit)
Once we've nailed down the concept, our engineers get to work creating a 3D digital model using advanced CAD software. This model includes every detail: the tube's dimensions (we offer standard sizes like 3.5g, 4.0g, and 4.5g, or we can create custom capacities), the diameter (12mm, 14mm, 16mm, or something unique), the closure mechanism (twist-up, push-up, or magnetic), and surface details like embossed logos or textured patterns. Then, we 3D-print a physical prototype—so you can hold it, twist it, and see if it feels right in the hand. This is where we catch little things that might not show up in a digital model: Is the grip comfortable? Does the cap stay securely closed? Does the logo pop the way you imagined? We'll tweak the design as many times as needed until you're 100% happy—no extra cost for revisions.
Step 3: Mold Making & Free Testing (Because "Almost Perfect" Isn't Good Enough)
Once the prototype is approved, we move on to mold making. Our in-house mold shop uses high-quality steel to create a durable mold that can handle thousands (or millions) of production runs. And here's a perk we're proud of: we offer
free mold testing
. We'll run a small batch of tubes using the new mold, check for consistency, and send you samples to inspect. This ensures there are no surprises during full production—no misaligned logos, no rough edges, no color discrepancies. We've had clients tell us this step alone gave them peace of mind they couldn't get from other manufacturers. After all, investing in custom packaging is a big decision; we want you to feel confident every step of the way.
Step 4: Production & Branding (Make It Yours, Inside and Out)
Once the mold passes testing, it's time to bring your lipstick tubes to life. We offer a full range of
private label plastic packaging
options to make the tube uniquely yours:
-
Colors:
Match any Pantone shade, from soft pastels to bold metallics. Want a gradient effect or a two-tone design? We can do that too.
-
Finishes:
Matte, glossy, metallic spray (gold, silver, rose gold), or soft-touch rubber coating for a luxe, velvety feel.
-
Logos & Branding:
Embossed (raised) logos for texture, debossed (indented) for subtlety, silk-screen printing for crisp graphics, or hot stamping for a foil finish (gold, silver, holographic).
-
Special Features:
Magnetic closures, transparent windows to show off the lipstick bullet, or even custom-shaped caps (star, heart, or your brand's signature symbol).
The best part? We handle the entire process in-house, from design to production, so there's no middleman to slow things down or mix up your specifications. This means faster turnaround times (we typically deliver prototypes in 2-3 weeks and full production in 4-6 weeks) and better quality control—because every step is overseen by our team.
